OMRON FINS Gateway Communication Server

The Klinkmann Automation OMRON FINS Gateway Communication Server (OMRONFGV) is a Microsoft Windows application program that acts as a communication protocol Server and allows other Windows application programs to access the data from OMRON PLCs over the following OMRON FA (Factory Automation) networks: SYSMAC LINK, Controller Link, ETN_UNIT, Serial Unit, SYSMAC Board and SYSMAC NET. The OMRONFGV Server supports PLC data and memory areas accessible by FINS commands. The OMRON FinsGateway software must be installed on MS Windows NT/2000/XP to run the OMRONFGV Server.

Any Microsoft Windows program that is capable of acting as a DDE, FastDDE, SuiteLink or OPC Client may use the OMRONFGV Server.

There are following OMRONFGV Server versions available:

- OMRONFGV DDE & Suite Link Server (32-bit), can be used on MS Windows NT/2000/XP;
- OMRONFGV OPC & DDE Server, can be used on MS Windows NT/2000/XP.

FEATURES

The OPC support for OMRONFGV Server OPC & DDE version conforms to OPC Data Access Custom Interface Specification 2.04. The OMRONFGV Server OPC & DDE version is tested for compliance and is compatible with OPC Foundation OPC Data Access Compliance Test Tool.

The OMRONFGV Server DDE & Suite Link version supports the Wonderware Suite Link communication protocol.

The OMRONFGV Server can access data simultaneously from different OMRON FA networks.

Supports PCs Memory Areas accessible by CV-mode (FINS) commands.

The OMRONFGV Server can access data from FinsGateway EventMemory.

Minimizes system message traffic by dynamically calculating and optimizing poll lists to read only, client - requested items/points.

Supports multiple topics, allowing different data update rates for each PLC.

Provides a communication status flag for each topic.

Supports standard DDE among multiple applications.

SPECIFICATIONS

Hardware: IBM or compatible 386/486/Pentium equipped with a minimum of 16 MB RAM. For effective using the following is recommended - CPU: 586 133 MHz or faster, 32MB RAM or more. May require more memory to run other Windows programs simultaneously.

Software: Microsoft Windows NT / 2000 / XP. Requires the OMRON FinsGateway Version 3 Runtime Edition to be installed and corresponding FA network's FinsGateway services started.

Computer Interface:
SYSMAC LINK requires OMRON SYSMAC LINK Support Board (e.g. 3G8F5-SLK21) connected to SYSMAC LINK network.
Controller Link requires OMRON Controller Link Support Board (e.g. 3G8F5-CLK21) connected to Controller Link network.
ETN_UNIT requires Ethernet Board (which can be used with Windows NT) connected to Ethernet network.
Serial Unit requires COM port (COM1 to COM4).
SYSMAC Board requires OMRON SYSMAC Board (C200PC-ISA-01-DRM).
SYSMAC NET requires OMRON SYSMAC NET Support Board (e.g. 3G8F5-SNT31) connected to SYSMAC NET LINK network.

Maximum Connections: Supports up to 62 nodes including Support Board in SYSMAC LINK, up to 32 nodes including Support Board in Controller Link, up to 126 nodes including Board in ETN_UNIT and SYSMAC NET and 1 node connected to each COM port in Serial Unit.

Devices Supported: Omron C200HX, C200HG, C200HE, C200HS, C200H, C1000H, C2000H, CV500, CVM1-CPU01-E, CV1000, CV2000, CVM1-CPU11-E, CQM1, CS1-Series, CJ1-Series and CPM2x-Series PLCs.
