Moeller SUCOMA Communication Server

The Klinkmann Automation Moeller SUCOMA Communication Server (KMSUCOMA) is a Microsoft Windows application program that acts as a communication protocol Server and allows other Windows application programs to access the data from Moeller SUCOS PS 306 or PS 316 Programmable Controllers (PLCs). Any Microsoft Windows program that is capable of acting as a DDE, FastDDE or SuiteLink Client may use the SUCOMA Server.

FEATURES

The Server is intended for serial communication with the controller through the serial interface RS485 port 2 on the PLC. Connection to the host computer is through the serial communication port of the host via a Moeller UM1.2 interface converter from RS485 to RS232.

The KMSUCOMA Server if running on MS Windows NT/2000/XP supports the Wonderware Suite Link communication protocol.

Minimizes system message traffic by dynamically calculating and optimizing poll lists to read only, client-requested items/points.

Supports multiple topics for controller, allowing different data update rates.

Provides a communication status flag for each topic.

Supports standard DDE among multiple applications.

SPECIFICATIONS

Hardware IBM or compatible 386/486/Pentium equipped with a minimum of 4 MB RAM (16 MB RAM for Windows NT). May require more memory to run other Windows programs simultaneously.

Software Microsoft Windows 95 (98). Microsoft Windows NT/2000/XP.

Maximum Connections Supports only point-to-point connections (one PLC to one serial port).

Devices Supported Moeller SUCOS PS 306 and PS 316 PLCs.

The following lists are the supported Point Types for each PLC:

Input area (words, bytes, bits)
Output area (words, bytes, bits)
Analog Input area (words, bytes)
Analog Output area (words, bytes)

Note: All point types are Read/Write.
